(APRIL 8, 2009) 6:18 | State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell visited Central Valley High School on April 8 following the announcement a week earlier that CVHS was one of 261 California middle and high schools that were named a 2009 California Distinguished School. The annual award recognizes some of the state's most exemplary public schools. It’s the second time this decade CVHS has been so honored. “It’s a great award for our teachers, our students and the community,” Central Valley High School Principal Emmett Koerperich said.
